What to do this St Patrick Day 2014

Every year, St Patrick Day is celebrated in London with a grand reception where all 32 Irish countries are represented in their traditional county costumes performing excitedly in various marching bands, floats, Street theaters and much more. Generally held on the Sunday closes to ST Patrick Day on March 17 every year, this time the event will be hosted on March 16. The highlights include a 10 meter high representation of St Patrick as well as a 5 meter fall firebird that will be easy to spot even within the heavy crowds.

St Patrick’s Day is a national holiday in Ireland and is also celebrated all over the world by people of both Irish and non-Irish descent. The parade is in honor of St Patrick, one of the patron saints of Ireland and the day is traditionally celebrated with a special feast.

The special day is organized by the Mayor of London with the support of various Irish businessmen. The theme for this year’s parade is ‘World of Dance’ and a number of dance groups from every corner of the city will participate in the event to highlight the rich heritage of Irish culture.
