Things around The Marble Arch

When it comes to historical landmarks across London many people often forget about the Marble Arch. It was originally designed and created to home the statue of King George IV, only when King George IV died and King William IV took over the plans for the arch changed.

When we think historical landmarks we think London Bridge, The River Thames, The Tower of London, then you have the Royal Parks, Palaces and monuments located all over the city, it is one of the most historical cities, if not thee most historical city in the world. There are many attractions surrounding the Marble Arch that can distract you from the true beauty that it situated at the top of Hyde Park.

Oxford Street is located close to the Marble Arch, in fact it is one street away and less than 15 minutes to walk from the Arch to the world famous district of shopping! Oxford Street attracts over 200 million visitors year on year, it homes over 300 shops, some high end and others high street, either way this is a real treat for everyone who loves to shop and browse.

Park Lane is one of the most beautiful walks in London, it homes some beautiful lodgings and it is located opposite Hyde Park, the most beautiful and popular of all the Royal Parks in London. It is a very desirable area of the city, it runs the whole length of the park from the Marble Arch down to Knightsbridge.

Bayswater Road is another of the roads that surrounds Hyde Park, it runs the width of the top of the park and Kensington Gardens. This is a very accessible road in the city as there are two tube stations that are located along here also. If you walk along Bayswater Road towards the West, this is where you are able to stumble across ‘The Diana Memorial Playground’ – one of the most popular attractions in the area.
Edgware Road Runs North of the Marble Arch, this location of the city is very popular with independent travellers and people looking to have some fun at the tables as Grosvenor casino is located here. This is not an area that you would stay with if you were traveling with children, this is a very mature location.

As you have seen it is very easy to get distracted from the Arch itself, it is easy to miss but if you stand back and take in some of the beauty and understand all that it represents, if you take a minute to look close enough you will realize that this is the center of all the above, you have 4 main roads in London they all run North, East, South and West of the Arch.
